About Us



The Government College of Home Economics, Lahore was founded in 1955 to create a distinguished center of excellence for teaching and research in the field of Home Economics. Since its inception the college has been affiliated with the University of the Punjab, Lahore, for the award of bachelor’s degree of four years integrated BS course. Two years M.Sc degree is also offered in five major areas of Home Economics. The college is also offering Graduate and Post Graduate diplomas. M. Phil and Ph. D degree programmes are also offered.



Govt. College of Home Economics is a unique fusion of tradition and modernity. Traditional in spreading the religious and moral values to its students, modernin its demand-driven futuristic approach to learning and education.



Govt. College Of Home Economics is committed in creating and disseminating knowledge. It aims at contributing to increase social inclusiveness by ensuring social mobility through education and training. It strives to inculcate in its female students a sense of pride and confidence in being individuals who have a right to grow in income and stature on the basis of their excellence in education and training.
